ROOFING DESIGN, REPLACEMENT & INSURANCE

ROOFING DESIGN, REPLACEMENT & INSURANCE

A common misconception among Homeowners, Business Owners, etc. is that when you need a new roof, or roof repairs, you simply call up your local roofing company and they appear the next day to begin work. While the process could be expedited to this degree, the quality of work would be lacking, and it could not last over the long term.

At Savvy Construction Co. we’ve developed a process where our team of Estimators and Sr. Roofing Managers work as efficiently as possible to ensure that we deliver top quality work on every project we are on. However, top of the line work on a project as important as your roof is something that takes time and accurate assessments.

Understanding the Insurance Claim Process
Your Home, your Community, your Investment are all some of your most valuable assets. As such, the integrity of your roof is of great importance. While preventive measures are taken to ensure the most weather resistant roof possible during construction, severe weather does happen. Sometimes Roofing Systems suffer damage from Hail, High Winds, Water Intrusion, etc. This is one reason that insurance plays an important role in Roofing Replacements.

How Do You Know If the Roof Is Damaged?
Immediately after a large storm has passed through your area or the area of a complex or community, you may find yourself wondering if a roof has suffered any damage from the weather. You may have heard hail beating down on the roof or similar conditions that are a cause for concern to you as a Homeowner, HOA Member, Property Manager, or Property Owner. If this is in question, contact Savvy Construction! A Sr. Team Member from Savvy Roofing Solutions is available 24/7 to inspect and assess if there is damage and/or the amount of damage. We then provide a complimentary Roofing Analysis Report. If the damage is significant, we can discuss filing an insurance claim and best practices.

The Process
To many Owners, the insurance claim process can be intimidating and overwhelming. In the event of significant damage to the roofing structure, however, insurance is a welcome service.

The first step is to contact your insurance company and schedule an appointment for an adjuster to come out, meet with a Savvy Professional, and assess any damages. While this is in many ways similar to the assessment we perform, the insurance company will want to assess it themselves. After the adjuster’s assessment, within a few days the insurance company should send a summary of damages as well as the first check. Savvy can immediately review this paperwork and discuss with the owner the accuracy of the summary and payment estimates. We assist you in every way throughout the claims process. Our goal is to minimize the best we can any overwhelming aspects of the paperwork and the process itself. Since we have experience with hundreds of claims, we can provide reliable professional advice wherever needed.

Deductibles
The home owner is legally required to pay whatever deductibles that were agreed upon when the insurance policy was purchased. The deductible will vary from one case to the next. Savvy helps to offset this burden with a variety of creative measures.

Repairing/Replacing the Roof
Following a roof claim approval, you will have a set time limit to repair the covered damage depending on your insurance company. After Savvy discusses with the owner the accuracy of the insurance company’s assessment and payment estimate, our experts will discuss any materials needed to perform the replacement or repair as well as costs. The first insurance check would be signed over to Savvy as either a deposit for the materials or following the completion of the replacement or repair. Once the work is complete, Savvy will send an invoice indicating total costs and signed verification of the completed roof project to your Insurance Company and the Building Dept. Once the insurance company has reviewed this information, the home owner is sent a second check to cover the remaining cost for the repair replacement that the first check did not cover. The amount of the second check is then paid in full to us for the finished job.

At this point, the insurance claim process is complete, and the owner has a new or repaired roof -usually with upgraded code requirements and premium roofing system materials. Though to many owners this may sound like an exhausting process, Savvy makes the process very simple and streamlined.
